Marine girls can have their hair as long as they want.
Straight out of the navy regs:
“When in uniform, the hair may touch, but not fall below a horizontal line level with the lower edge of the back of the collar”
So I don’t think it has to be short once you leave boot camp, but from what I hear, it will have to be cut while in BC.

who told you that you have to cut it? guys only have to cut their hair in the military. Girls have to have it up when in uniform but, you don’t have to cut it. Don’t worry, you can keep your hair =)
navy girls (in boot) have to cut their hair. it can’t touch their collar. however after boot you can grow it out (if it can still be put up in a bun).
i recommend having your hair stylist cut your hair because the people who cut your hair don’t take their time && really don’t care what you look like, just as long as they do their job.

you shouldn’t even be joining if you can cry over hair. man the **** up, and shave it, or well that’s overkill at least keep it tied up above the collar.
