My sister may challenge this record- she’s only been in 6-7 years. I’m trying to find out if anyone knows a female who made Chief in less than 8 years.

im sorry this isnt an answer but if you are joining to get rank fast, you shouldnt join. its not fun if you dont fully believe in what you are fighting for. not to say you dont, but if you are there for rank think about it mroe. 8 years of your life will be spent trying to get to e-7.

When I was in the Navy it was a minimum of 8 years before you could become a Chief Petty Officer. So I assume that there are plenty of women who have done so. I made QMC in 8 years flat!

I knew one that made it after converting to MAA and only had 6 months in rate and never went to school. I think it was more of a reaction to tailhook at the time cause she wasn’t worth didly.

Why would you want to make E-7 so quickly?
A Chief is an expert in their field and a bonafide leader of Enlisted soldiers. This takes time to learn your craft, experience leadership challenges, and grow one’s maturity. Being a 25 yr old Chief or Platoon Sergeant isn’t right….

If you want ‘rank’ quickly, attend officer training and become a junior officer.
