FOR THE ARMY THE MINIMUM IS 2 YEARS

  • cannotundo says:

it’s four, and then there is tar, (temporarily active reserve) there are special considerations to their service time, I was active so I don’t know much about it.

  • jman says:

the minimum in the army is now three years not two.

  • Joe V says:

2 yrs when your 2 yrs are up there try and get you to enlist for anthoer 2 yrs if that happens then you served 4 yrs instead of 2 yrs

  • Groucho says:

8 years is the minimum enlistment. Depending on your job or MOS your 8 years can be broken up into 2, 4, 6 or 8 years active with the remainder inactive reserve.

danny is right but not quite accurate. you can enlist in the army for 15 months, 2 yrs, 3 yrs, 4 yrs, 5 yrs or 6 yrs + training for each.

  • AFwife says:

actually you enlist in any branch for 8 years…..you can get 2 years of ACTIVE time, but you are in IRR for the rest of the 8 years.
